Default Grand national swap for 6LE

Hey everyone, needs some help on a swap im doin. Ive done several swaps before but none into g-bodies. Im having some issues lining up the motor mounts and wanted to see what some people have done.

car is a 1987 Grand National
4.8l
4l60e

these are the mounts im using.

im using the "hotrod" oil pan setup but i just cant seem to get the motor low enough to line up into the mount holes. im using the stock grand national frame mounts. im thinking i have to move the mounts up like an inch or so on each side.

heres some pics:

also what did you guys do for driveshafts? ive got a bit of an issue on that too. i do have a great driveshaft shop a block away but just trying to see if theres some kinda stock driveshaft i can use instead of cuttign this one up first.

heres how far back the trans sits.

just a random pic:

I have never done one, but is it possible to spin the frame mounts 180°?

Try flipping or swapping sides...from the look of the mount two bolt side and the plate bolt as they are aligned, if the set up is flipped, it might line up.?

Yeah, the photo are super sized!

Good luck.

i flipped the mounts on the lock today cause they wouldnt line up before. they lin eup now i just cant go down any further. i was thinkin of unbolting the frame mounts and moving them up or flipping them.

this is how far off when i had the mounts on the correct side. i couldnt go any further back on the motor cause it was already hittign the firewall. with them flipped i got plenty of room but like i said the frame mounts need to either come up or the motor mounts need to go down.

I usually bolt the plates, mounts and frame stands together on the engine and drop it in, then mark the new hole location. Remove engine, drill new holes and you're done!

One trick I use when bolting the frame stand back down. I use some glue to hold the lock washer and nut together and use a bunch of different wrenches, flex sockets and extentsions.

Just looked at the last set of picture, I would not do just the 180. Flip upside down, switches sides.

You prob need to swap to a Monte Carlo frame mount, Those swap kits are designed for the 8cyl application and even 6cyl base model G-bodies require 8cyl mounts. That looks to be your issue.

Your swap mounts are designed for pre-73 sbc/bbc frame stands. You have the 3.8 buick frame stands in the GN.

Until you get the motor in and securely mounted I wouldn't even think about the driveshaft. But you will prob have to have it shortened or buy a new one. When I did my LSx swap I used dennysdriveshaft.com for mine and ordered a 3.5in steel one from them. I am very pleased with the quality and fit.

alright finally had time to mess with it and got it in. ended up just pullin the frame mounts off, mounting them to the block, put the motor back in and marked it, pulle dit out and drilled the new holes and then put the motor back in a bolted up. of course all my friends show up after i finish everything by myself. lol oh and they bbq'd at my house while i was working. lol

Owner brought more parts too. guess he bought these turbo manifolds off a member here.

oh hes not running the truck manifold. i just put it on there.

alright so i need some more help. pretty much lengthen/shortened, removed wiring from a factory 01 truck harness. got a computer with vats removed. have things wired up but having some issues. i have never used the stock fuse block before (usually i do the lt1swap.com) fuse block. but i followed there directions for hooking this thing up and its jsut not firing. i can crank it but that it but thats it.

so the stuff in red i have fuses or relays in. i have constant battery to the B+ terminal on the left side.
one circled in blue pops the fuse whenever i put it in.
does anything go on the 2 circled in black?
