z06 synchro work in gto t56????
This is the second t56 my t/a has ate in the last 5 months
I've owned several fbodies and never had t56 problems.
This t56 was built in 2011. Time stamped on the case. Was bought straight from gm to replace the blown up t56 in a 05 gto.
Guy totaled the goat 3 months later.
So I ended up with the trans for $1200.
Worked great till I made a pull the other night and I felt a light grind going into 3rd.
Been grinding ever since.
What causes this to keep happening?
But the main question I have. Will a 3rd gear synchro from a 2011 zo6 work in my trans?
I can't afford a new synchro nor can I go without my only car waiting for it to get here
I can get the synchro from my buddy that beefed up his t56 after a few thousand miles for basically nothing. Will it work?
Thanks for the insight!

if your trans was rebuilt without correct shimming or not resetting the end play correctly you can end up with issues. there is very little tolerances for this trans. if not set correctly the gears will not mesh correctly.

The 2011 is a tr6060 and dose not use the same blocker rings or synchros. Or any of the speed gears for that matter. Be forwarned, the new tr6060/magnum sliders are garbage and don't tolerate much abuse. Very fragile engaugment teeth!
