Default Clutch freaked out now its ok?

I drove my car today about 100 miles city / expressway mix at about 75ish miles I was on the I was on the expressway coming up to my exit and wanted to open it up a little before i exited so slowed down to about 20mph (no traffic) punched it 1st, 2nd & 3rd no problem then slowed down exited came to a stop light put it in neutral when the light changed going in to first it felt like the clutch was not fully disengaged (WTF?) had my foot pushing it hard to the floor but trying to grab 1st or 2nd I had to push it in but it was like waiting for the syncros to line up???? by the time a got 1 block or so to the next light it was back to normal (Puzzled)

clutch is not slipping (6th gear floored rpms never jump and feel no slipping) the peddle was up while I was at the light? not sure if this is a clue but while I was at the light I smelt some type of fluid but not even sure if it was from my car it was just a slight smell of hot fluid?

My guess is you need to change your clutch fluid.
