Default Oil Pressure vs Oil Temp.

I feel kinda like an idiot for asking this.

I always though that my Trans was running low oil pressure, which I understand is not uncommon with these cars.

Then today I was detailing the dash, and realized that I dont actually have an oil pressure gauge, but rather an oil temp gauge... I assume thats what it is anyways, with the mid-point being 275 and the red line being 550...

Why dont I have an oil pressure gauge??!! Am I the only one???

Sorry for the stupid post.... but dont all these cars have pressure gauges??

I didnt even know LT1 cars came with a oil temp gauge. Unless the previous owner installed an aftermarket oil temp gauge. lol but wait how long have you had the car and finally realized? I think oil temp gauges are useless for these cars anyways when stock. Oil pressure is more important. As long as the oil lines and tubes are good with the oil cooler then get an oil pressure gauge. Did you check your car to check if you still have the oil pressure sensor? Are you sure you are reading the right gauge? There must be some kind of mix up. Take a photo!

275 is way too high for oil temp to be a mid range. Gotta be something else. In fact no fluid in your car should get much higher than 225

I believe the rough approximation is 10psi per 1000rpm, and no I'm not doing the damn KPA conversion lol
