Default Over-Revved my motor- help

I missed a shift last night and grabbed 2nd instead of fourth going about 95mph and it tacked to about 6700 rpms and now it doesnt want to run and sounds like i have a huge cam with the worst tuning. I have a warranty that has 2 weeks left on it and have to take off all of my performance parts. Doy ou think it is just a bent pushrod or valves and what could i say to the dealer. I mean i dont want to tell them i was smoking a cobra and grabbed 2nd going 95?

If you still have stock pushrods... one or more of them are bent now.

Just tell them you missed a shift, but lower the MPH. Simple as that. It should not be considered abuse to miss a shift.

Plus you will be giving them the info they need to diagnose the problem.

I'd check my pushrods myself. you can have my stock ones for $20. If your going to put it back to stock, put everything back to stock. I wrecked my motor on NOS. I put it mostly back to stock and took it in to the dealership. They wouldn't do anything to it and actually voided the powertrain warranty. I left the headers on and a tune in the PCM. I don't know how many mods you have, but put it all the way back to stock.

If you broke it, you should fix it. It isn't a problem with the engine, it is a problem with your driving. It happens to everyone. To be trite, "you have to pay to play."

yah no kidding, im suprised so many people rag their cars then expect a warranty. They should program in an OTP flash marker that say overrevved, warranty void. lol.

drive hard, break hard.

well why do you think i bought an extended warranty. to drive it hard and not be worried about something failing. If i didnt have a warranty id paying to have 5th and 6th gear sreplaced on my 99 with 12,000miles b/c my 3/36 warranty is up. dont tell i abuse 5th and 6th and the syncros were worn down.

I'd pop off the valve covers and do a visual isspection of the rods.....its not hard to do, should take about an hour. That way you'll at least have some idea of what it is...or is not.....
