Default Which Heads for an F1A/346

Hi,

I am in the process of researching the correct Heads/Cam combo for my car. Its currently a fully forged 346 cubic inch naturally aspirated with TrickFlow CNC 215's(58cc) and a fairly radical cam. Roughly 11.2:1 compression.

I am in the process of completing the installation of a Procharger F1A and FMIC.

I am leaning towards the Brute Speed "Forced Induction" camshaft and want to get a cylinder head with a 72cc combustion chamber to get me to roughly 9.5:1 compression.

What cylinder heads do you all recommend I go with? And does anyone have any good heads that fit my criteria for sale?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Hi Andy, AFR 230 72cc heads or an older set of AFR 225 72cc heads would work great. Bob

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the reply.
Do you guys carry these cylinder heads?
If so, can you send me the link to them on your site?
Thanks again,
Andy

See if wiseco has a -20ish piston and just keep those heads and you'd be around your desired compression ratio. I don't see why that wouldn't work. Or I'm sure you could sell those Trick flows quick and put some cash towards whatever else you want.

But Bob is def the man to buy from. EPP/brutespeed blower cam all day!

Thanks for all the replies..

Like you guys said, I am definitely going with the EPP/Brute Speed "Forced Induction " camshaft. Hands down seems to be the best camshaft for any forced induction LS engine.

I am really leaning towards the AFR 230's. Does anyone have any good used ones laying around or any that they know of for sale?

I'll most likely end up buying them from Bob new.

Thanks again,
Andy

Better off buying new. There are rarely any heads like that for sale on here.

KP ran the AFR 225's and they worked for his D1SC car. took him to low 9's, and I believe he ran them on the F1A setup and went to 8's. I figured if your dropping the coin on nice heads, why not go a little bigger in case you upgrade in the future. You still need something to matchup to your cubes tho but its a thought.

You are correct, he got somewhere into the 8.80 range with my cam and AFR 225 heads with an F-1A.

Here is my old Camaro with this same cam in a 408. Bob
