Default high compression 370

Hey guys I'm lookin at purchasing a 370 shortbock from TSP with 12cc dome pistons. Looking at using the PRC 2.5 5.3 heads but was wondering how much better off id be to get their as-cast 225 heads so I would have room to grow in the future? Both heads would be milled to 60cc. The car is an 85 cutlass 4 door and would be used mainly as a street car but will be fairly track capable.

I would go the cheaper route if every bit of absolute power was not a goal.

Right. I guess I could always go bigger if I'm not happy with the 5.3 heads. I wasn't quite sure how much the bigger valves and 13* valve angle would be worth. Thanks for your input.

Sweet deal. What would the chamber size on my heads need to be to get 14:1 with some .040 gaskets?

It will be 14:1 with a 60CC chamber. Please understand that it will probably need to be clearanced in the chamber of the heads with a head that tight. Give us a call and we can help you with the build.

Thanks for the info. I figured it would be pretty close. I'll be checking all clearances and re-checking since I don't really have the money to do this twice haha. Being 22 and trying to put a setup like this together probably isn't the smartest choice in the first place...

No problem. We can do Layaway for 90 days with as little as 50% down as well. Let us know if we can do anything else to help.

Could anyone give me some input as to which intake and carb to use? I am leaning towards the performer rpm intake with a HP 850 e85 carb. Still haven't decided on the heads, still looking at the PRC ported 5.3's or their as cast 225's. I'm looking for a really broad torque curve with the strongest low-midrange possible. Id like it to pull hard just past 6500 probably try and shift by 6700 and have the rev box set at 7k or so. This is obviously my first time doing this so any opinions are welcome, as is constructive criticism. Thanks again for the help.
