Default TH350 converter fit

Running a TH350 behind a 6.0 truck block. Boought the correct flexplate and spacer to do the conversion. However, i have a problem in that the converter snout won't go far enough into the spacer to allow some slack between the converter and the front pump on the transmission. Or the Spacer is to thick. I've tried two different converters and both have the problem.

Has anyone had this issue? My fix it to machine some material off the face of the spacer to allow the correct clearance for the fornt pump of the trans.

What flex plate and spacer do you have? I used a stock flexplate (98 I think) once and bought the GM spacer, when I put the TCI streetfighter that was for the standard TH350/400 (old school) I did need to machine the spacer down about to get any clearance at all. I think i took about .125 off it.

Got the flexplate and GM spacer from Don Hardy.

Your respose makes me feel better. We machined an just over an 1/8" off the spacer and now everything looks as it should. Converter ahs some "slack" against the front pump.
