Super Chevy Show changes
Spent a wet weekend at the Ennis Super Chevy Show last weekend. They have made a few changes to their format.
They no longer have classes like stock, street and modified. Now the cars are lumped into 1 category and they pick 1 winner and 2 outstandings. I was in 92 and newer Camaro class and won an outstanding. With my car I had to compete with complete modified cars. Don't really care for the new format
oh............. and they no longer gove out jackets for winners. Now you get a cheezy button up embroidered shirt

The attendance to the Indy event has seemed to dwindle the last two or three years. I don't show any vehicles, but I do try to attend as a spectator. My Dad and I decided to just skip last year's event because of the lower turnouts in 2001 & 2002, and it was also horribly hot & humid that weekend.

That's unfortunate about the changes. No stock, street, or modified classes, just a first place, and two "outstandings". Well, my street 69 just can't compete with the high dollar modified cars.. so I'm pretty much screwed. Just going to have to win the lotto or something....

The "Chicago" show in Joliet is getting larger every year, but I didn't go to Indy last year. The Columbus OH show seemed very small but last year was the first time I've been there.
It's too bad they've switched the award structure around, but I still really enjoy the Super Chevy shows and I've never won an award there yet so I don't go planning on winning. I enjoy the drag racing and the people.

Glad I won two jackets last year
im sure its all about saving $$ and making more profit.. less classes = less trophies = less $$ spent.
Having stock cars vs modified cars blows.. street class cars wont have a chance.. not so sad im going to miss this years show now
Oh, they cancelled Phoenix, Tucson and Vegas.. only show out west is Pomona now..
