Default Curbchecks LS1 S14

I'm getting close to having everything i need to start my swap so i thought i would start my build thread. My plans are an LS1/t56 swap

a little back history:
I bought the car about 11 years ago with a blown hg for $700. and yes, it was pretty riced out

So, i stripped it of all its riceness and did a satin black rattle can paint job on it, along with some coilovers, rims and a turbo set up.

A couple of years and a few motors later, it was time for a real paint job. so after watching some youtube videos and buying an air compressor, i ended up with this

Got tired of messing around with the turbo setup and sold it all off.
first i modified the rad support so it can be removable. went to the junk yard and cut out a rad support from a wrecked S14

while i was at the junk yard i also scored a uncracked dash for 20 bucks

to replace this crap

then i pulled the motor out and delivered it to its new owner

Pulled the dash to get ready for the new one, going to leave it out till im finish because im going to mount the PCM where the airbag was under the dash.

Started ordering some parts
sikky master cylnder
t56 trans
and an aluminum drive shaft

i also order the whole CXracing lsx swap kit but dont have pics yet.
thats about it for now. planning on getting the motor in about 2 to 3 weeks so hopefully ill have this thing running soon!

did some test fitting yesterday and im thinking i might need to notch the sub-frame to get the motor back another inch or so, but other then that everything seems to fit pretty good.

ill get some better shots once i find the memory card for my camera.

progress is slow while i'm waiting for parts to come in. My t/b came in so i put it on. still test fitting parts before i permanently install everything. once i have all the parts and i know they fit the way i want them to, im going to take the motor back out clean and paint some things and re install it.

Looks like where i have the motor sitting i have good hood clearance

and im liking how high the oil pan sits

hopefully i can get some more parts ordered and finish test fitting everything, im so excited, i cant wait to drive this thing.

Wow, nice work! Those are some nice Fab'd parts too! Great looking swap, and with the weight of that car its gonna be a screamer. The LSX surprisingly fit in there very well.

Looking good so far. Go ahead and invest in a Q45 rear diff and upgrade your brakes. You are going to need it. I built mine without either and realized very quickly why they were needed. My car with full leather interior, small stereo system, and A/C weighed in at 3000lbs with the Silvia K's body kit. They are damn fun to drive.

should i go with the 18v or the 24v upgrade. lol i did mod the steering on the jeep to make tighter turns because it wouldn't turn for s**t.
and my son DID have a grave digger power wheel till i wired an 18v battery in it. It lasted about a year till it burned the motor up! I cant leave nothing alone.

Oh yeah, that was some of the first upgrades i did to it when i turboed it a few years ago. i was making 360 to the wheels. i have Z-brakes and q45 diff in it.
