Any tips or pitfalls going S/R?
Ive read about oil pressure issues.... how do I combat that...?
anything else to look out for?

Oil pressure issues aren't really that big of a deal. More of a rare issue that common.
Valvetrain geometry can take a lot of work. More so even than hydraulic, your geometry has to be dead on.
Parts: You get what you pay for. Unfortunate, but it takes good parts to survive a solid roller.

Hey Jason, I thought you decided against a solid roller. Im having KC do mine, they are taking several steps to assure proper oiling. They use non-standard lifters as the bush the lifter bores for one, however they have done many solid setups and definitely know their stuff. If your car is track only why dont you run a dry sump setup and use the c5r type valve covers, you would have better oiling and they provide hookups on the valvecovers for oiling.

My builder wants me to go SR... good idea since its mainly a drag car...
I don't want to do thing cheaply but I would like to be running this year and not spend 5k extra if I don't have to...

Hey Robert, no big deal. I had originally planned on selling my car, but things worked out so that I was able to keep it . I did sell the turbo kit and my motor is completed and will be shipped pending KC checking clearance on my oil pan. Hope to get some numbers up soon, but from initial testing they should be nice . Talk to you later.

lol...you called off the project 1 week after we first talked. How did I get you "tire of waiting"? You posted that in April and it is now July and you don't have your motor. How does that work out? I'm just bustin your ***** Jeff It's all good, we wen't a different route in R&D and are building street legal EO numbered setups. Were just now starting a 346 solid roller for a TA. I'll be interested in veiwing your results and feed back from your setup. PM me with any details if any on the DFI project.
