Hey guys just wanted to get your opinions on ratios for drag racing. I am in the process of getting a new trans for my c5. I have The option of c6z-51, c6zo6, and zr-1 ratios. I will still be runing 3.42 rear end gears and i will be within the 700-800hp range. (hopefully)

c6ZR1 Ratio 2.29 1.60 1.21 1.00 .84 .67

c6Z06 Ratio 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 .75 .50 OR .80 .63

c6Z51 Ratio 2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 .74 .50 OR .80 .63

I like the ZR1 but a better all round setup for most is the C6 Z06. Bust out a gear calculator(all over web) and see what your mph will be out for each. Also depends I think a lot on power.

Yeah I was thinking c6zo6 the gears are long but if I can make 700hp I think it would pay off in drag racing

That's z51 (c5z06 versus normal c6z06).

The c6 z06 is the best setup besides the zr1.

I have a Zr1 tranny, and Zr1 3.42 diff in my car, 745 to the wheel, on a 28" Mickey Thompson Radial Pro (yes i did the 15" rears, and yes it cost alot, lol)

I finish about mid to high 4th gear at the end of the 1/4, not quite redline.

I think if i went with a 26.5 or 27" rear, i would be alot closer to redline.
