Default Need Help in Memphis...ASAP...

I have an emergency in Memphis.

I am scheduled to take a road trip to Texas this afternoon. While inspecting my car before the trip, I discovered that my fuel rail is leaking.

Does anyone in the Memphis area have a LS3 fuel rail that I can use? I will pay what you want and will replace it as soon as I can get one from the dealer.

Please! If anyone has one on an unused crate engine, or anything laying around, please contact me asap.

Thanks..
Andrew

Can you post a pic? Someone may have a fix if they could see it. Just a thought.

Thanks guys. I am going to pull the rail off, and found a welder in town that might be able to fix it. Basically the nipple that holds the shrader valve is busted off...

Is it the rail or the valve ? Have you tried to replace the valve ?

Worst case, break it off and weld it shut.. or screw some kind of cap over the end. Make sure you flush the rail clean first (no carb cleaner !) Be for welding. Maybe braze the crack close.

Not a good way to start a road trip! Good Luck.

The plan right now is to remove the nipple and weld a plug on the end of the rail. Unfortunately, the welder is not available until 3:00pm, so I have to sit tight.

Important safety tips kids: Don't hang the sender for the fuel pressure gauge off that nipple.

The right way to do it is to run a short off that fitting and mount the sender to the firewall, or other secure spot.

I am just glad this didn't happen in the middle of nowhere, on the side of the road, and set the whole car on fire...That would suck.

You should be able to Braze it.. if the rail is SS, you will have to use a Silver brazing rod. If not normal Brass/Bronze will do.
