Default Tachometer

So my son and I have got his 94 3.4 firebird converted to a nice running LT1 car. First thing he noticed is that the tachometer is reading too high. It occured to me that it is getting 2 more pulses per revolution of the crank.

I thought i heard about a change that can be made to the cluster or wiring to easily make it a v8 tach. I have searched a bit and haven't really found what i was looking for.

Or, is it just better to put a v8 cluster in?

I saw some on ebay for around $100 that have 150mph speedo which looks cool too.

Anyway, if i can fix it for 5-10 bucks and a late night at the shop i'm all over it for now.

Maybe somebody here knows what needs to be done? Or where to find the info?
