Default Guys from the d2 coilover group buy...pics/impressions?

Any of you guys from the d2 group buy have some insight on the coils? Are they holding up well? How are they rideing? Would you suggest them? And most importantly some before and after pics. I know its only been 4 months or so but they should be broken in by now. Im thinking about buying some now but would like to hear from you guys.

One more question to add to that list... Have any of you guys been in a road course with them? I want to get new suspenders for the V but I like to do track days at Fontana in southern California here. Its not a long circuit but part of the course dumps you into the front straight and turn 1/2 of the banked NASCAR oval. So its pretty rough on suspensions. Any insight would be sweet

Here is my final stance. I'd have to look for some before photos. Either way I switched up to 600/650 springs, the one in the kit were too soft. Everything seems to be holding up great. The rubber collar on the rear the keep the rear spring from being a metal on metal interface are beat up but its not really an issue for me.

I have taken this setup on 2 different road course, Laguna Seca and Thunderhill raceway. With the 600/650 spring rate The car feels solid and very planted. I am very pleased with how they perform on the road course so far.

Are these rebuildable? The jump to coilovers is going to be inevitable as the supply (and cost difference) between FG2's and CO's dries up...

OneFast_V - for a street car / DD how do you feel about the 500/550 springs (what comes with the kit)?

Depends on how low you want to run it. I ran into a lot of rubbing and bottoming out issues on rougher bumpier roads. otherwise it was fine. I didn't think they felt any stiffer than the factory springs. If you are going to stick with 245/45/18 on all four corners I believe the included springs would be fine. Its really a matter of personal preference and what you are will to deal with. If you just want a lowered street car maybe consider the H&R springs instead.

I could DD the 600/650 with no problems. They really are not that harsh.

Did you order the 600/650 springs from D2 or from another vendor?

D2 does not offer any other spring rate. I bought springs from summit racing to replace the included springs.

Not true. You can order stiffer springs with the coil overs. Just increases the order time by 3-6 weeks

Good to know... thank you. Who do you guys suggest ordering through? For a daily driver that won't be slammed what do you think would be the ideal spring rate?

Just about to hit 100k so I've been thinking about a suspension freshening...

For a DD listen to ONEFASTV and go with 600/650.

Thats exactly the info I was looking for. I personally want just a lowered street car but I prefer to have the option to set the ride height exactly where I want it. I dont like how low the h&r's sit and even tho the MM stuff works and has for everyone I just think thats a way to "rig" or bandaid the car to sit right. Im not knocking the spring and MM setup, I just dont like it. I'd rather spend the money to have the stuff bolt up like stock with the added ability to fine tune my own version of the correct height.

I think the D2s will serve you fine for the street. I cannot comment on the KWs but I like my D2s for the price. I switched my springs out though from 550/550 to 600/650. The 550/550 was too soft for me but I am taking my car to several HPDEs a year.

Quick Reply: Guys from the d2 coilover group buy...pics/impressions?
