Well i want to make my foglight switch a fuel killswitch would it handle the amps? Im guessing no more than 10amp draw? Also id like to see if the defogger switch on the hvac controls is able to handle the amp aswell for an ignition kill switch. . Anyone done these and are they good switches to do the kill switch on, maybe u guys can shoot me some pointers or ideas of stuff you have done

I have a 99 camaro ss by the way

Why couldn't you use a relay to make it a kill switch if it can't handle the amperage?

Defogger would be tough as that's a momentary switch IIRC.

the defogger seams unlikely as it only even functions when the car is ON, which would really defeat the purpose, also its a weird switch, that has some thermal overload thing for a fuse and it's just best not to mess with that, as for the fog light switch I seam to recall it having like 5 or more wires running in it so good luck sorting that out.

I would do relays and hidden switches somewhere if I where to do this.

You can do the fog. I did a starter kill there. You can wire it so you would need both the headlight switch on and the fog light.... Double protection.

Easy wiring schematic work to know the wires.

A guy I knew sacrificed his cigarette lighter for one. Wired it inline to the starter wire. You'd have to push the lighter in before trying to crank the car.

Was it a momentary switch for the starter to turn only while u crank the car? My friend suggested a cig lighter switch aswell

I never would have thought of using an existing switch with a relay as a fuel cutoff. Time to heat up the soldering iron!

On one of my older cars I mounted a generic SPDT/CO
switch way up under the dash where I could reach it
from the driver's position, but would never be seen.
Center-off position kills fuel pump feed, left routes it
to the horn instead, right energizes fuel pump. So a
kill and/or alarm setup.

I'd put the switch in the fuel pump relay coil feed,
which is low current.

That's pretty clever. I used to have a kill switch wired to my MSD box, but it was in a bad spot and I'd sometimes hit it with my knee, killing the engine while driving down the road.

Yank radio
Install blank plate full of random multi-position switches and *****
Wire it in a bizarre circuit that you'll never remember
