Who in SATX will install a 275 on stock wheel?
I am getting ready to buy some tires for my V1, I want to put a 275 out back and I can't find a reputable shop that will do it. I have read numerous posts of people running them w/no problems. Any one have any advice? Road hazard, lifetime balance and rotation, flat repair, etc, are all important to me.

With how crazy law suits are getting and how frivolous **** is being paid out for it doesn't surprise me. They are probably doing it to protect themselves. You know some asshat would throw 355s on a stock wheel that is half the width of the tire, lose control while drunk driving while showing off in front of a bar, and ends up with a fence post through his spleen, would sue because its the tire shops fault he is a **** head.
By the way I'm not saying anyone here is a **** head. I'm just making a scenario. You know how quick people get butthurt on the forums when you make a joke these days.

I got 275 mounted on my stock V1 wheels through Firestone on base...Firestone in the city did not really want too. I told them it will be fine, and that I have seen a number of guys run them. After that, the one in the city did not have any issues with it.

My buddy is a manager at Discount Tire and he wouldn't mount a 275 on a stock rim for me. They have to go by the tire manufacturer's recommendation on rim size. In the past they had you sign something saying they are not responsible for improper tire wear or any other issues. Tires manufactures do not want to be responsible so I'm sure the installer get's sued. Anyway, they are taking this very seriously at Discount Tire.

With all the hassle and frustration trying to get some more meat out back, I ended up sticking w/stock tire size. I ordered some Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Discount Tire ended up matching the price tire for tire of the DW's. I'm not sure if they didn't notice they weren't the DWS's, I sent the price match email and they called me and said they could do it. I ended up saving $120 on four tires. I'm waiting for a replacement wheel to come in (one of my wheels cracked, didn't even hit anything) and should get everything installed on Monday. I'll update with how the tires feel/ perform. Thanks for all the input guys.
