I agree with this. I have a balancer that I honed out for this but this would be easier to deal with and fit in tool box!

Cool tool for sure. My engine builder had the GM official tools for installing the timing cover, but I'm sure this is just as effective.

I install the seal then the balancer & tighten with a wrench. It works about the same?

Hi Orange99Z
I'm sure your system works and is what a lot of people probably do. But problem we found is by using the seal to align the cover is that the seal is soft and will not hold the cover exactly center with the crank, especially if the pan is off. Our AlignIt tool fits solid on the crank and into the cover for a mistake free install. Then the seal is installed using the AlignIt tool to keep the seal from getting cocked or distorted. The AlignIt just helps make it easier and with no chance of misalignment that can cause a leak. Plus it fits nicely in the tool box.

The rear seal tool would have been nice. Not 100% certain I don't have a slight leak back there.

Nice tool to use if always installing a new seal...

Do you have a tool to remove a good seal for reuse without destroying it?

Just curious as I am still on the same crank seal and my cover has been off 5 or more times without a leak...

Thanks

Hi Old Geezer,
We haven't calculated the price for the rear yet as we are still working things out with the manufacturing. I can say it will cost more than the front AlignIt because of the huge diameter plastic we have to buy. Not cheap. But we will have a package deal for buying both.
