What fuel pump are you using? And what do you use your car for?
I'm currently running a Holley Blue pump on the Mustang which works great, just loud, but it's a track only car so I don't care.
BUT, the Fairmont build will be a driver and I'm looking for something quieter.
The Holley HP series looks like it may work, what do you use?

Aeromotive HP700 with a custom in-tank install done by yours truly. It is quiet above 1/2 tank, then the pump starts getting uncovered and you can hear a light hum . It is good to something like 900 hp in a NA low pressure app. I run mine at 43 psi because of the FAST EZ, but I chose it because if ,down the road, I want to exceed the 650hp the FAST will handle I can throw a big carb on and shoot for the moon. It will work in both carb and fuel injected setups.

I think 8an is the right size for a 500-700hp LS. That is the only thing I will have to change out later on mine if I go big in the future. The line set-up on mine is 6an for the fuel injection. Sorry about the slight jack, but thought it might be relevant .

I've got a edelbrock quiet flow, the big one. All 8an from tank to carb bowls. I've got a deadhead quickfuel regulator and I made 400 whp on low 29* timing thru a 3400 stall th400 on a dyno dynamics (450+ dynojet numbers) the fuel pressure never flinched set at 7 psi.
I normally idle around our small town and smoke the tires in the country but I want to hit the 1/8th and shoot for 6's. it's really not all that quiet but it flows good for the carb.

People say the Carter pumps are more quiet than the Holleys. If you really want quiet then look for an in tank set up. EFI pumps work fine for carbs when used with the right regulator.
Whatever you do don't go too big on the pump. After a certain point it just adds noise.

I am running the aeromotive street strip pump on Freddie it is nowhere near as loud as the blue pump (it replaced) but does make a pronounced hum. The Carter is a rotary design and won't be pronounced. Here's the one I am going to run on my Box top pure street project. I am going to run 1/2" line from the tank to the regulator splitting up 3/8" from there.
It is 3/8 NPT most other carter pumps are not.

Carter=LOUD I would have to disagree on the Carter being a quiet pump, at least my application! I can hear that little f*cker all the time. It is ruining the otherwise lovely rumble of my exhaust and driving me crazy! I did use the 3 rubber isolators that come with the pump. But I think I am going to have to rubber mount my entire pump and filter assembly and maybe even make a bottom cover. I also think mounting in front of the fuel tank turns the trunk into a reverberation chamber! Here is a pic of the install and the youtube vids on my first start ups a few weeks ago. You can hear that damn thing churning away even with the engine running. Though I do have 500miles on the car now and I think it has started to revhone itself a little quieter. That or I am going deaf to that frequency from listening to it!

Besides the noise the performance has been perfect. Moves a TON of fuel, though it is suppose to maintain 5PSI, I often see the gauge bouncing above that.

Your bracket looks like a diving board with the pump mounted at the end of it. And as Pop n wood said it mounted to high. You'd burn it to the ground if you had a blue pump mounted on that. Mount the pump lower and on the factory bracket mounted solid to the frame.

I run a Jegs pump (95913) mounted to my frame rail, been running it for 3 years, but I have wide open zoomies that drown out the noise. It's definitely noisy but only 79 bucks.
