Default vent fan?

I've got a 2002 Trans Am, the problem is that it blows only to the floor, not the dash or defrost. Took it to the dealer and they are telling me I have a vacuum leak in the engine and will cost 1200. I'm thinking not, when I checked it appears to be electical and not mechanical at the switch. help?

HVAC uses vacuum. Check the back of the switch for any loose or cracked hoses.

Right, the switch on the dash is a vacuum switch. If the switch does not change the vent selection at all, the leak is probably in the engine bay.

If you search this site, you should find many threads on this problem.
