Is is it a good idea to put in an adjusable one ?

Depends on what you are trying to do ?

I'm still running the stock unit on my dual intank set up @ 12#'s of boost, no problems yet.

Get the car tuned and you'll be fine. The stock fuel pressure regulator / pump is plenty capable of handling those mods.
