Default New to Carbs Need input please

Hey guys Im building a 62 c10 street truck just for cruisin and what not. Im not trying to go super fast and probably wont ever go to the track. Ive got an 03 express that Im pulling the motor out of (and what ever else I may need) The van has been mine since it had 15 miles on it and now it has 365k I know shes tired but she still runs great. what Im wondering is what intake and carb and ignition box to buy? I wont be doing anything to this motor performance wise. I will probably get another 5.3 down the road and do some mild work to it. Probably cam valve springs some minor head work or what ever. And please be aware Im a carb idiot. So the eaiser to setup the better. Thanks guys Ive been snooping around for a while but now its time to start on this thing.

On just a cruiser 5.3, I think a 650 vacuum secondary will be fine and IF you plan to hammer it any a 750 VS would be better.
I think thats a 24 tooth wheel motor which would be a 6010 MSD box.
Also for the streeter theme...a dual plane intake.

Get with one of the sponsors and they'll hook you up....MikeF at S-K-speed is who I went with and have nothing but good things to say

Everything above is spot on. You may be happy and leave it in and just throw a small cam in later.

I think a 750 would be cool I dont mind the ability to get in it now and then. Any suggestions on what carb? And what dual plane intake?

A regular run of the mill 750 vacuum secondary off eBay or Craig's list will work fine. Just rebuild it of needed.

So I think I came up with a parts list. Let me know what you guys think.

Carb.
http://m.summitracing.com/parts/hly-0-3310sa
A Performer rpm intake manifold
and the msd 6010 ingnition box.

Would I be able to add like a 100 shot of nos easily to this setup down the road?

Spot on!

The ignition controller will allow you to pull timing when the nitrous is activated. It is a very cost effective system.

Hmmm... is there a place to get base line timing curves from? And does it require any additional hardware to program? (aside from a laptop)

Comes with the software and a base line is 16* at zero and all in to 34 by 2500 rpm across the board and dial in from there.

Sweet. Now that I've got this all sorted out time to decide on a transmission... Easy and cheaper th400 or 4l80e... I have a 4l60e already but I hate them. Been through to many.
