Vandalized Z28

Vandalized Z28
Looking at a 98 Z28 with lots of after market parts, cam, etc.
Big problem is the paint. The car was vandalized and the current owner took sand paper to the swear words so that he could have it in the garage.
Clear is completely trashed on the rear bumper, right rear quarter, drivers door, and will need to be touched on on driver rear quarter once a small dent is popped out.
The front bumper, driver fender, driver door, sail, under the door area, and passenger fender are all fine and could shine right up.
The whole car should be repainted to "do it right"
What kind of cost are we looking at?
The car has 88k miles and could be a really nice car.
I can sand it down my self, but would need a professional to paint it.

For a decent paint job you're looking at a couple thousand dollars. Ask yourself it it's worth it. With that low milage and mods, it might be.

panels won't match if you only do affected areas, they need to be blended. If it is as bad as it sounds like then the whole car could probably need an entire respray. You could post up some pics and it might help people asses the car. But in the end it's going to cost thousands to respray a car unless you go to maaco lol.

It looks like it only needs the one side repainted. Re paint that side, and the hood, blend the fender, the bumper covers, and the spoiler, wetsand the other side clear the whole car...you're done.

labor is not optional...
Much of my youth was spent performing body shop repairs and aftermarket work on cars. The lion share of the cost will be in labor. Some shops might be willing to let you do the messy work of sanding and/or filling. It's not overly complicated and with some practice you can yield pretty solid results.

From what I can see in the picts, the 1 panel where the antenna is it seems the clear coat was peeling off anyway. I would just get the whole car repainted. No sense in saving a buck or 2 and having a nice car look bad. just my 2 cents. BTW, let this be a lesson learned, don't screw oven your girlfriends. Ask Carrie Underwood, evil.
