Default Cam Swap Question

Hey guys. still new around here so bare with me.

In the middle of swapping cam's and realize I now have to buy a 3 hole sprocket and dampener. My big question is, at the end of the new cam (next to the last bearing roller) is groves NOT on my stock cam. Pardon my ignorance but is this ok/normal?

Those are for the cam sensor on an LS1/6. If you have an LS2 they will not be used, but won;t hurt anything. Most cam blanks already have them even though the GEN IV motors are triggered on the cam gear.
