unless your lamps are like,,,yellow i would use something less aggressive.
faethor's metal polish sounds interesting, or heavy compound..
just treat them like paint, they will look great!

they are really bad, you can feel the roughness w/ your hand, but I will try some of that metal polish, I tried some mothers mag polish(just about everything I had handy), and it didnt seem to do jack... they are not yellow but just hazed all to hell

I used 1500 grit, and it took me forever to get the haze and scratches out. If I had to do it again, I would go with something a little more corse, then finish with 1500 or 2000 grit.

I posted about two weeks ago on this exact thing. Mine were yellow and dingy looking and looked awful! I wetsanded first with 2000 grit but could'nt get it all off, so I changed to 1200 grit and it sanded much better. I then buffed them out with meguirs diamond cut compound which is some what aggresive buffing compound. The results was great, wish I had taken before and after pics to post. They dont look brand new , but the before and after difference is awsome and a whole lot cheaper than new lights from GM. Another suggestion, have a friend hold the light while you buff it, the buffer will grab the little **** and sling it!! Floyd

Mine look as though they have "overspray" on them!
Know that is not the case as i bought my car off the showroom floor..
I'll try the 1200 grit as well.... Thanks.
