Default Someone please tell me I'm being ridiculous

So the bug is starting to bite me again (go fast) My 62 c10 is currently bagged front and rear (almost laying frame) my plan was to use the 5.3 I have throw a carb and throw a small cam at it. Put a th400 behind it and laugh at all the stupid wanna be honda racers and the richy rich people around here who can drive theyre sports cars. Now Im thinking of building it more as a bagged sleeper.... My main concern is launching from a stop or a slower roll. I have a sway bar for the front I could fab one for the rear. Am I nuts? Im also thinking of a 6.0 maybe a single plane intake... little bigger then a 750 carb little bigger cam and possibly a 250 shot of juice? Id love to be able to use some stock heads (799/243 right?) with light weight valves and good springs. Hopefully stock bottom end? Please help me my mind is going crazy. Btw just got a new job so my budget just went up. I can probably spend 3500 on motor only. Then I figured about 1200 for a 200-250 plate system and Ive got about 2500 to spend on a trans. Do able?

shop around and you will find a fully accessorized 6.0 for a lot less than 3,500. sounds like a fun project.

Truck weights ~3800-4200 in stock form. Ive lost about 200-400 lbs in putting air ride on it. (stock front suspension is torsion bar) I think running high 9's would be nice. Im totally guessing but I think Ill need about 600hp before spray.

Ive found several 6.0 long blocks for well under 1000. So I'm thinking about 2500-3000 to spend on motor only. (heads cam intake carb headers ect)

are you shooting for 9's in the 1/8? 1/4 mile 9's would require the bags to go away

So in other words you wanna be "farmtruck" from the show Street Outlaws? Lol j/p...but if your budget is $3500 I would shopping for the high compression lq9 6.0 or throwing some 243/799 on a regular lq4...get a nice chopper cam, headers/2.5"-3" exhaust, and make it happen...I wouldn't go single plane as your only going to see maybe a 5-10% hp pickup and that's on the big end, although I'm not sure of nitrous with single vs dual plane, but if your doing more street driving stay with dual...good luck bro and smoke a few Hondas for me lol
