Default Interesting, stock pistons vs. rebuilders

If nothing else, it's an interesting observation..

Piston on the left is out of '07 L76, as far as ring location, looks just like the LQ4 pistons that came out of the LQ4 that is in my car right now as well as both LS2s in my garage. Piston on the right is out of a reman LQ4 I picked up a couple weeks ago and is a +0.75mm (+.030" over) rebuilder piston. Caught my eye that the ring pack is lower on the rebuilder piston... Biggest gripe for nitrous users on stock pistons is how high the ring set is. Looks like rebuilders move them down for whatever reason. Any ideas?

I'd probably spray/boost these pigs even more with a set of these installed..

thought I would share

Thicker ringland = more strength.

What brand is that piston do you know?

It looks like both pistons are Mahle brand.
