Default ram air non functional hood**

i've got a reproduction ws6 hood that i wanna make to a funtional hood. i was wanting to go with a JAAM RAM AIR KIT. but i'm not to sure about where to cut out the hood on the underside to allow the air to come in without drowning the filter in the rain. i was wonderin if anybody could help me out with this by postin pics of the layout of a ws6 hood so i could get an idea of how to cut it open and maybe somebody could give me measurments on where the cuts are and how big to make them. and additional info would be much appreciated. thanks.

Do some searching on the External Engine forum for "JAAM" or "BGRA" and maybe "baffles" and you should find some threads that have pics of the rear opening on the WS6 hood.

You should also do some searches on the SSRA, and the Chris1313 ram air and then decide if it's even worth the trouble of cutting the hood.

I would suggest doing a search and some reading on the external engine forum about opening up the hood and using the scoops. I would rather cut an aftermarket hood than hack on the car itself.

The scoops will provide a direct shot of cold air to your airbox, plus other advantages compared to "bottom feeder" setups: less chance of sucking up from puddles, not radiator blockage, no hot pavement air at idle, less dirt.

Never sucked any water also much better gains from bottom feeders that are set up properly. Pluse the cutting on the latch part does not effect anything.

This has been discussed much and I will grant that guys have seemed to get the best track results from bottom feeders. But a homemade "BGRA" can be done very easily (I did it on my 01 T/A with aftermarket WS6 hood) and those have shown good results.

There are plusses and minuses depending on the use of the car. My purpose is to get the OP to recognize that there are a number of factors involved while considering the options.

If you don't want to cut your car then go with the SSRA instead, some claim the Chris1313 ram air works better because it's a more tightly sealed setup but to some it's worth the possible losses to not have to cut there car up.

Also cutting the hood wont help as much unless you also have a WS6 air filter base.
