T56 Removal Issue
My slave cylinder went out so I am in the process of pulling my T-56. I removed the torque arm, drive shaft, and all 7 bell housing bolts (on the motor) unplugged the 3 sensors on the drivers side and the 1 sensor on the passenger side. Disconnected the hydraulic clutch line (PITA even with the tool). Removed the entire center console. I am able to get the bell housing off of the motor but only about 3/4" off. Me and my friend are pulling this and we can't get it to come out, any help on this would be appreciated!

Definitely 8 bolts for the bellhousing to motor, and 8 bolts for tranny to bellhousing. I've done this a few times. Like the guys said, pull the tranny from the bellhousing ... it's easier that way ... and pull the bellhousing after. Re-install in the reverse order (bellhousing first, then tranny to bellhousing).
It's a tedious task, but just be patient with it.

Thanks everyone, I ended up pulling the transmission from the bellhousing and it worked out fine, was missing 1 bolt out of the bellhousing was the upper-most driver side bolt.
Now I have some questions I pulled everything and my clutch is shot, it did its due lasting 151k miles. I have a stock car and in the future looking at putting a head and cam package in it to end up around 380-400whp. I have been looking at LS7 Clutch kits that include the LS2 flywheel. For around $440 is it my best option?

Launching!
I also removed the trans first then the bell housing...those two upper bolts were difficult to get at.
i would be more concerned with torque numbers when it comes to clutches, but that is just me. the Ls7 is great setup...for street duty. if you plan on doing any drag racing, the LS7 setup will burn in short order. it may handle a few passes but once the heat gets to it...you'll be looking at something more heavy duty.
I run a monster level 2...good high performance clutch. pedal will feel heavier due to the pressure plate springs. But that was then...if i were you i would go with a twin disc setup. Most setups will work with a stock flywheel and stock master cylinder (even with the drill mod). Pedal feel is also stock like...cost is the downside.
