Default Fast 92 intake worth money over ls6?

I have a head and cam car with full bolt ons and was wondering if upgrading to a fast 92 intake with a matching throttle body would give me a gain in hp and tq that would be worth the 1200.00 bucks...Over my current ls6 intake with ported tb?????

thanks for any input and opinions

Its worth about 15-20 hp over the ls6. Its worth it if you want the most out of your setup. Yes they are overpriced and yes people on here will try to hype up Fast products to try to sell you one but hey its business right?

As the owner of a ported FAST 102... absolutely... not. These things are overpriced.

But, once you get past that, you absolutely need the FAST to make the most power.

Cam and heads are by far the two biggest items that determine how much power you make. 40-70rwhp for the cam (so the best bang for the buck) + 40-60rwhp for the heads. But to maximize them you need headers (20-30rwhp) and a FAST (15-20rwhp). All of those items are high dollar items in a build (even cheaper headers are several hundred bucks).

You have to pay to play.

Agreed^

Once you get into going all at it its worth it. Otherwise I would stick with the LS6 intake for just bolts on.

I felt no SOTP improvement with mine.....but i guess you really shouldn't expect to. It's a solid piece to a big puzzle but the trick is, you can have just about as much fun with half the puzzle. If you're unsure, save your money for now.

I got mine used cheap. Going from a ls1 intake to a FAST on a cammed car was a HUGE difference even though the cam in question peaked near 6000rpm.

If I had a ls6 intake I wouldn't bother unless it was a car that gets raced a lot or you score one for a good deal.

I didnt feel any difference with any bolt on mods. Added a cam and the car felt way faster. The next year ported heads went on.....

Being you have H/C, a FAST 92 or 102 would make a good deal more over your LS6 and compliment your set up nicely.

With full bolt-ons, stock 241 heads and a mild EPS 226/234 cam I picked up 17rwh and 13rwt with my FAST 92/92 over my LS6. M6 car w/ 4.10's.

Try and locate one used if you can.

now THAT is a cool story, bro!

anyone looking to get a fast 92 should ask themselves: have I researched enough to justify this $1000 investment?

seriously.

In this guys case, no. Like mentioned, with a H/C combo the FAST intakes shine over the LS6 and pick up great power. To make power, you gotta be ready to spend money. If not, buy a four banger and pick up a extra shift at Burger King until you can afford the hobby/lifestyle.

Payed 300 for the intake , it's a first design one , then bought my tb off ebay for 227. Yes the tb adds cost over the ls6 intake , but by the time I buy a ported stock tb. The price is a wash for me. Would I go out and spend the money for a new Fast set up , I don't think so.

This makes it real tempting for me. Currently my car is at 383.3 rwhp. I would like it at 400+rwhp. If I went with a FAST it sure would be disappointing to end up at 399.X rwhp though, so close to 400 rwhp.

Go to a different dyno in town, you could probably find one and hit 400 now.

Dyno numbers mean ****.

I know, it's all about the 1/4 mile trap speed. Still it would be nice to have 400+rwhp.
