Default Time for a Cleanse??

I own a '02 Camaro SS with 80k miles and was just wondering if there is a way to safely clean your injectors/fuel pump/tank or lines... do those fuel injector cleaners made by like NOS and others work well?? I've seen and heard of people dumping small bottles of what seems like a harmful substance into their fuel tanks?? Is this actually helpful for the life of the vehicle??

Default

The ONLY maintenance on injectors that GM recommends is a bottle of their dump-in-tank cleaner every oil change (not every fill up - every oil change). Its 20-25 bucks but its good stuff. If you actually diagnose an injector as bad/clogged they do make cleaners for them (GM top engine cleaner works well) but I wouldnt run those unless you need 'em.

The other thing you can do is use top tier fuels they tend to be cleaner. Not to say BP/other fuel stations are bad in any way but they have yet to make it on the top tier fuels list.
