Default Transmission to LS1 2004

I have a Lamborghini replica with a 2004 Corvette LS1 engine.
What is the best automatic transmission that fit this engine?
Today i run a TH400 but it eat to many horse power so i cant afford to drive due to low milage.

All automatics will "eat horsepower" and more than a manual.
A 4L60E would be a much more efficient choice than your TH400 for two reason:
1. It has an overdrive 4th gear to save gas
2. It supports a lockup torque converter. (Also saves gas)

Many 2004 Corvette owners get 25+ MPG on the highway with that combination.

I would suggest buying a high performance 4L60E/4L65E from one of our sponsors - FLT, RPM or PerformaBuilt, especially if you plan to hot rod the engine to 500+ HP. If you plan to go over 650 HP (e.g. Turbo), you should consider a 4L80E transmission. It has the same advantages, but will be somewhat bigger and heavier.

I run only about 10 MPG with the TH400 tranny on my low milage LS1 engine and 2,73 ratio in the rear axle.

Is there several versions of 4L60E transmisions?
I have find same ads on trannys here in Sweden but they say that they will only fit LT1 engines, and that sonds strange for me.

There are two main versions of the 4L60E - the pre '98 ones have a 298mm input shaft and fit LT1 engines. The '98 and later ones for V8 engines have a completely different 300mm input shaft and fit LS engines. (V6 ones are also 298 mm). The 4L65E came out around 2003 for LS2 engines and slightly stronger internals but is identical on the outside.

10MPG even with a Th400 sounds strangely low, especially with a 2.73 rear, unless you are driving at 100+ mph.
Do you have a scanner to check O2 sensor voltage? Do you know what your fuel line pressure is? Are your brakes dragging.
IMO, if you are only getting 10 MPG (24L/100km) at 70 MPH (120 km/h) with you combo, there is something wrong.
