Default CX Racing LS fuel rails

Anybody use them? I don't like the way the O-rings bulge out. I called them and they said its suppose to do that. I dunno...I don't like it.

I have them, I don't remember mine doing that, Try a thinner o-ring or chamfer the hole more.

That oring is not captured.
It will leak or blow out once psi is applied.
Like others said. Thinner oring more chamfer.

I was able to use a smaller o-ring and get it to "capture". Overall I think this was a weak offering by CX but hey, maybe it would be OK as the thick o-ring is partially captured. Could always have it welded by my buddy I guess.

Weld the fitting to the rail to have nothing to worry about. But did you expect quality from such a cheap part?

My Pro Comp rails did the same thing. The rails are pipe thread and the supplied fittings are O ring. They will leak. Weld the fittings to the rails (be careful, the alloy is total ****) or get pipe fittings.

I'll bet Pro Comp and and CX Racing get their fuel rails from the same place, Cheng Shen Famous Good Luck Fuel Rail Concern.

Lol I definitely won't be buying these. Saving a few bucks isn't worth a fire.

I'm going to use thinner o-rings and pressurize it with shop air...that should be a godo enough test I would think. But yeah, what a hassle. They were 119.00 with the fitting and a liquid-filled pressure gauge so the price was attractive. Even if they need to be welded-up its still a good deal (provided they weld up right as mentioned prior).

Make sure you get some longer screws for the mounting brackets, I had the same rails for a bit, the screws in the back on the driver side pulled out and the rail lifted about a 1/8th of an inch, when that happened the O-ring on injector number 7 pushed out, I got lucky for the most part had just made a pass down the 1/8th and was on the return road when I smelled some gas, wasn't sure if it was my car and pulled up to the slip booth and the car went up in flames, lucky for me the booth had a extinguisher and we had it out quick enough it didnt hurt anything other than the plastic cowl. Had the car back out the next night.

Weld the fittings on, get some longer screws and locktite them, and they will work good for you. Good luck.

That's a total bummer, holy hell you're lucky it wasn't a lot worse! My Pro Comp rails came with hardware that was too long and the rails popped off a couple times before I figured it out. Lucky for me I was testing and had no hood on the car so I could see the fuel hit the windshield right away.

Another sign of cheap rails, mine came with a braided steel crossover line at the front that had -6 AN 90's on either end. Funny thing though, my -6 AN wrench didn't fit them. Fit all the XRP -6 fittings on the car though!

Thanks for the tips guys. I will need to make my own hold downs b/c the ones that came with the kit don't seem to work with the truck intake. I can only assume they were for a LS1/6 intake. Easy enough to do though with some metal angle.

Just make sure the screws you use have a good deep bite in the rail and you will be fine.

Fuel hit my windshield too, only it was on fire. LOL. Dont think I have ever killed an engine and jumped out of a car so fast. Mostly it was soot and the cowl was warped from the heat. Had to replace one of the relay/fuse boxes a few weeks later because it got sprayed with the agent and corroded. It also corroded by nice clean 317s and headers pretty good to. But it doesnt have to look good to go fast.
