Default Precision Dyno 7/4/13

Progress of the cars. 403ss gained 30whp fixing a head gasket leak and adding a GZ Vacuum pump. Im up 17-18whp adding an EWP and Rem polished 3.90s. Gonna try and pick up another 20-25whp between intake work and REM gears of the trans and light clutch/fly. Then we will be re racing... then after that... re racing with me cammed

not really 100% sure yet on cams. I want to put as much cam in the car that wont need to be reved passed 8000-8100 and will be able to keep full 50* TIVCT. I want the sleeper 650rpm smooth idle. According to AED, with the stock cams, you can open the valves completely and with the motor at TDC, still doesnt make contact. So that alone tells me you can put some decent size cam in the car. And with the 50* TIVCT, ill be able to still make great power/tq through the curve. I dont like how my car already makes more TQ then the NSR cammed cars because they are limiter to 20* TIVCT

dont really know to be honest. But from what ive read, Ford built it to take an absolute beating at 8500rpm all day...

I know few have went over 800whp for while now. Taking to 8000rpm.

Evan I wouldnt believe that much from AED. He claim full weight less mods to get 10's but then later came out all his work.

here is build list from a 501whp Boss. I think more can be gained with the CJ cams.

The comp stage 3 cams dont impress me very much. Any cam that can run off stock springs really isnt very serious IMO. The CJ cams i agree should gain more power. Im trying to touch 470whp before the cam swap.. I figure i can pull 8-10whp more out of the drivetrain. Then a solid 15 out of the entire intake setup. Gonna go with the frpp 90mm TB and make a 5 inch air intake to flow more then enough for it. Going to port the boss intake to 90mm and have it neck down a bit for velocity reasons. The CJ intake was a bust and im not dealing with that BS anymore. I figure if i can hit 470 without a cam swap... i can pretty much pick any set of cams to hit 500whp. Im just trying to do it without dropping any of the TIVCT. Realistically, it should really only take a stock cam spec + 20* of duration to hit that number. And shouldnt have to drop any TIVCT

What mean cj was a bust? Danner gained 6mph at tx mile with it and TB. Others are testing but not letting out gains. The cj uses it for a reason. Expensive swap yes but worth it.

with his recent gains, ill need every bit of 470whp to make a race out of it. I pull weight out weekly so hopefully that too will help me out.

To bad you did driveshaft already. Could do the carbon fiber one for couple more lbs. Are you going to pull the brembo's?

Damn right. My buddy bought into that drop in cams bullshit with his RSX he sold the cams and the guy who threw em in his car actually went slower then his previous setup with stock cams lol. I know it has nothing to do with your car but thats my take on drop in cams. Have you considered a veloctiy stack? The tapering down to the TB is a great idea, my buddy with whos a tuner had great success with this method on the dyno tuning the worlds fastest stock bottom end H2B. It picked up a handful of power on a 2.2l honda i don't see why it wouldn't on your car.

Only 2lbs going to a carbon fiber one... the weight drop isnt what gives the best gains in power... its the reduction in friction. I expect most of my gains with the drivetrain to come from REM of the trans gears, not so much the lighter clutch. Leaving the brembos. I do high speed pulls so i dont want any stopping issues.

Im hoping to get as much power out of it through the little things as possible. That way i will get the maximum potential of the cams. And to break 500whp on nothing but Hess Premium....well thats the bonus lol. That 403 is pretty much the king **** NA car around here. Obviously there are faster NA cars around but nothing nearly as normally street driven as that car. So making a race of him is the goal.

Thanks... most likely wont be cammed till next. Not trying to break the bank. I also may pick up an ATI balancer for the simple reason it will handle high rpm better. While theres no noticable vibration, im sure its not 100% balanced at 8k rpm. I could have a custom made underdrive pulley from them but i dont really see much of a point as the only thing im spinning is my alternator.
