Default Trans Am repaint, unsure of scheme to go with

Car currently looks like this (d/s is damaged and clear is peeling hence the repaint):

Debating doing the hood scoop in black, not so sure on the wing.. Thoughts? Also possibly thinking of throwing some pearl into the white. Will be deleting moldings, but possibly retaining emblems- still not sure on that. Also unsure as to whether do black mirrors as well lol.

I like your car the way it is with the black CETA rear and black sail panel. I might would maybe do the hood like the other car you posted. I definitely would delete the side moldings and delete the emblems on the sides too. I would leave the mirrors white and paint the door handles white too. But it's your car, you should only do what you like.

Agreed.. I would do the hood, sail panel and CETA. Delete molding and emblems on side.. This is what I did to mine and think it looks much cleaner..

Thanks for your opinions guys. You were thinking the same as me, I love the current paint but I think the black ram air scoop really brings out the openings and makes it look much more agressive. All black like the car below mine- the wing doesnt flow with the body in the rear. The mirrors being black might not work if the wing wasnt as well.

I'd like to do the handles too, to me they feel like theyre made of some kind of strange pot metal? Do people normally paint them? I mean they came color matched on 98+..

The door handles will paint just fine. It's best to remove them to paint them...

Question. The hood I have on the car right now has non functional scoops, I'm assuming that it has to be aftermarket then?

I'd like to make them functional to lower IATs some even though I have a CAI, everything helps. I'm thinking of the best way to go about it? Ream out a pilot opening and use a sawzall or? I don't even know if I can get in that deep with a dremel/ or any drill for that matter..

You should be able to reach it when you take the hood off.

The hood on/ off doesn't make a difference, all the dremel attachments I've seen are pretty short. Maybe some longer cutting bit for a drill?

If you go black do just the scoop. The black wing and mirrors makes them stand out too much. What I mean is the hood scoop is a performance thing and it is supposed to stand out and make the car more aggressive, but the rest of the body has to be smooth, especially these f bodies.

Only black should be sailpanels and side view mirrors. White looks so clean on its own.

Ditch the badges and molding. Hell, the antenna and anything else, too.

Has anyone done ground effects a different color than the car? As in follow the bottom of the front bumper, rocker mouldings, and across the bottom of the rear bumper. Say in black on a white or other bright color car.
