Amount of boost or rwhp that requires hellfire rings
I hear people speak at a particular boost you should use hellfire rings but I also hear at a particular rwhp. Depending on the engine and heads as we all know some require more boost to reach a particular rwhp. Obviously an ls7 will require less boost than an lt1. So should we be getting hellfire rings based on the amount of boost or the amount of rwhp?

The only reason I ask is because I'm about to purchase a Z06 and knowing me I'm going to start building a turbo engine on the side hoping for 800+ rwhp. I will want to drive this on the street. May put 5,000 miles a year on it. I just didn't know if this is possible if I have to use rings that are tough on cylinder walls. So that's why I brought up boost vs rwhp.

best thing to do is call and talk to them, they are very knowledgeable. For what it's worth for my LTX 4xx twin turbo engine, they will be in there. My old 383 LT1 twin turbo engine they were in there

I've been using a moly ring since 2005 on my iron 6.0l avg boost of 25psi and hit 30psi many times. My gap on top ring is .028. That's the secert to run high boost is the gap in the top ring. When hot rod mag did that big bang 5.3 test they used stock rings but gapped then at .028 top ring. They hit over 1k hp on that almost stock engine. Something to think about. I have over 50k miles on my engine.
