new parts and now it wont start. So my 94 camaro with the lt1 quit running right the day I bought it. It would miss and sputter and backfire. I put new plugs in it and that didnt help at all. A shop told me it was the distributor. So I figured while I was in there id do wires. I got the over the valve cover kit from ccpreformance with the 8.5m msd wires. After installing all the new parts and attempting to start it it just cranks and cranks with the occasional sputter like is going to start but does not. I am stumped any help would be great.

It has plenty of fuel the plug I took out was quite wet.
I installed the new opti the way the repair manual said to. I did not index it the way ur pic says but the manual said to put the new one in in the position the old one was when it came out. I believe thats what I did.
Oe replacement cardone from advance auto parts. (My brother works there so I get a discount)

Well the plug I pulled was wet with gas so i dont think its a fuel problem. I would have preferred to go with an ac delco but I could not really afford the "cheep" one let alone an ac delco.(joys of being a student) But it has a lifetime warranty so ifbit is a dud I hope I can get my money back.

AC Delco is a little better then the MSD .... when you get it take it apart and loctite the rotor screws so they dont back out and take out the whole unit lol
Also when people say to check the fuel pressure, they mean borrow a fuel pressure gauge and check it, the hookup is on the back of the intake, its a schrader valve (like the air valve on a tire)
you should have ~40psi with the key on engine off

Well I have a gauge and know how to check it but it was fine before I took it apart. Im going on vacation so il have to check it when I get back.

if it ran before and then u replaced the opti and now it wont run... pretty sure I wouldn't be chasing fuel at this point.
Double check your opti install, check wires, and check your plugs.

Well the plugs and wires are brand new with the opti. When I get back from vacation I will have to quaduruple check the wires, I may have put one in the wrong plug. I just really dont want to take the water pump off again.

Don't be so quick to point the blame at the opti just because the shop said that's what it was. A lot of times people have symptoms that the opti can cause but it turns out being something that's a lot less trouble. If it was just a crossed wire, it would still start and run, it'd just run like crap. Even if the opti was installed wrong it could still start (mine did). Now if you were 180 degrees out then it wouldn't start but the car would turn over sluggish. If its spinning freely, try starting it with the gas to the floor, like I said earlier

Ok. Well the plugs and wires are brand new. Ac delco plugs and msd wires. The one old wire I took out was cooked so bad when I pulled on it it broke in half. Lol. Well if it wasnt the opti I just waisted a ton of money.
