6.0 lq4---> 1978 chevy C10, fuel system help!
I don't know much about fuel systems, can some out throw out some ideas please. I'd like to keep the original tank if possible. Can I just plumb into the gas lines a walbro 255 with a corvette regulator? Help!

swap in 87 for r/v body style truck ( same body style last year & first year efi ) tank with baffle in and new sender for same 87 year and get it with out pump on it . then use aftermarket high flow pump or even 96-97 non plastic sender style tank pump vortec 350 ( 60 psi pump ) pump and it plugs in and clips on sender just like stock 87 pump would.
external pumps work but efi pumps like to push better than pull fuel to them . so intank run cooler and better performance.
then use corvette filter/reg unit for single line up to engine on your stock hard line with correct fittings and hose .
click my link for my 2wd build for some info .

You could also put a sump on the stock tank you have (drill 3 1" holes not cut a big square hole) and put the inline pump and regulator. If sumped properly it will baffle automaticly. This is how my Chevelle is done and there is zero fuel starvation issues.

I just used my original tank, got an adapter, and used an intank pump/guage unit.
I am in Australia though, and these bits were available to suit what I wanted to do.. Tank pump has inbuilt pressure regulator as well.

I would have gone with the later tank if it had been available. Not much of that stuff out here.
The LS is used out here for a lot of conversions, so quite a few "modified" bits so we can use local parts.

I have a 86 blazer tank in the rear of mine with a walbro 255 inline pump mounted very close to the tank and a wix 33737 vette filter/reg.... steel lines from pump to filter/reg and braided -6an from it to fuel rail....the 87 blazer/suburban tank would be the better choice tho....
