12 CD Player Issue

12 CD Player Issue Greetings!
I have a 12 CD Player model 25678544 s/n BD091722 which came factory installed in my 2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary. It has stopped working with the following symptoms; when the CD cassette is put into the unit (loaded or unloaded) the system attempts to engage the CD trays of the cassette. The unit will make 3 attempts at this until it sends an "err" message to the dash unit. I pulled the cover off of the unit and plugged it in so that I could watch the action after sliding the cassette deck into the unit, but could not see anything as the internals of this system are pretty cluttered. I put the cover back on and figured I'd submit this issue to
LS1Tech crew for advise. Anybody have ideas on what the root cause is and how to remedy this problem?
