Default starter clearance (picture)

gonna be a while before I actually get to try to start my build but i bolted the starter up today and this is what it looks like. Look OK? looks a little far away but im not sure on how close or far it should be.

Fish the pinion gear out with a pick tool and see how it engages with the flexplate. Once engaged, you should be able to feed a paperclip end in between the mesh...

didnt even think to try to pull the gear out, ill give it a shot
