Default 16" 5 star wheels what tires?

I was going to strap some welds on the car with some 28" hoosiers but decided to go anouther route and came across some 16" 5star firebird wheels brand new in box $50 each so i'm going to snag these and mount some tires. But i'm not sure what size i should get/will fit on these wheels? I'm sure others have done something similar if not used the same wheels. Also what tire would work good with the power i'm making? about 420 to the rear wheels right now. These are the wheels if it helps anyone out at all thanks.

There used to be a MT ET Street bias ply in 16" (don't know if they still make it), IF you just cannot (or refuse to) use their ET Street drag radial. M&H might also make something in 16".

I've seen allot of options just browsing summit just not sure what would fit good and hook. I've got everything i need done in the suspension i just need tires now. I had a set of 15"welds on the car with 28x10 hoosiers but they seemed a bit big? Maybe cuz it's lowered. I'm sure i need the fenders rolled but am i looking at a 26x10 16" or should i go bigger?

I also run the firebird wheels with BF Goodrich 245/50R-16's..

I plan on changing them at the track. So no worry on the street.

Hoosier, and Mickey Thompson both have drag radials in a 295/50/16 that have a minimum recommended wheel width of 8", so yes you can go bigger.

The second one, IMO is to big. You will have some clearance issues.

295/50/16 should be about 27.61" tall, or 27.61" x 11.61" x 16" which could also be labeled as a 28" x 11.5 x 16".

So a 28x10 16 would actually be smaller?

The one you posted (#18153), no. The reason is that for some reason they didn't list the sectional width in the size, instead they listed the tread width. Now if they listed it like the smaller tire(#17431) you listed then it would be a 28 x 12.1 x 16.
