Default need some definitive answers/data on the lsx376 b-15

easy questions but the answers seem hard to find.

what are the rods made of, who makes them, and how much power can they hold?

same questions for the crank, and pistons.

are the fasteners arp? if not who makes them and how strong are they.

I was interested in this as well, and from what I have gathered the rods are stock LSA rods. The crank and pistons are from an unknown vendor. Some have suggested that the crank is from SCAT, but I don't know that for a fact.

I read the Feb '14 Car Craft article where it said that the crank was a stock LSA/LS9 which is forged. It didn't say who manufactured it for GM. As for the other parts it says the rods are forged powdered metal(no mention of fasteners) from the LS3 and forged 4032 aluminum pistons. They went on to say the B8 is rated to 600-650 and the B15 is rated to 800-850. It really gives no more info than what is provided above, LOL.

the only difference between the b8 and b15 is that it has the lsa crank, ls9 camshaft and the six bolt ls3 heads. the rods are standard powdered metal ls3 rods. the rod bolts are stock ls3 bolts. pistons are gm performance forged 9 to 1 replacments. the heads are the same as any other ls3 head except it has the extra bolt holes to match the block. as for power depends on tune and use. i have the b8 and changed the rod bolts for arps other then that its totally stock and i have it at 750 whp for the last year or so no problems. powdered metal rods are marginal at this point IMO but hey if it aint broke dont fix it. i just upgraded to an 88mm turbo so im gonna push it some and see if i can do 850whp or thats the plan we will see how hard i actually push it when im on the dyno i guess. pull the pin and all that.

The LSx376 B15 actually has the LS7 cam P/N 12638426. It seems odd that the LSA angines and the LS3 use the same connecting rods.

you are right, my typo sorry, it is the ls7 cam. the lsa does have different rod. dont know why for sure they went with the ls3 rod but they did. checked both part numbers through pace and another funny fact is that pace wants 123.00 for the ls3 rod and only 35.11 for the lsa rod.
