Default Motor swap....?

Alright I have a 94 LT1 Trans Am. Up for debate is what would be required to swap the LT1 out for a carbureted 383 stroker. Can I keep the 4L60E or would a 400 be easier. This computer and wiring stuff is drivin me crazy.

You can't keep a 4L60E with a carb motor as far as I know. Plus getting to the distributor since it would be behind the cowl would be a pain in the ***. Also, you'll possibly have to cut up the cowl for the carburetor to sit up right. There are a few guys that have put carb motors in F bodies before so their info is out there

While I hate the idea of a carburated boat anchor in a 4th gen, you can run the 4L60E but you need a stand alone trans controller which costs some cash but they are nice.

You would have to run a vortec distributor if you want any chance of removing it while in the car.

If you're going carb'd, Why dont you go get an LS motor and do it, better motor and still no electronics (for the most part).
