Who the f*ck cares? If having stock valves scares you so much, then change them. Hell, while you're at it change the heads out for a MAST/Brodix/RHS/All-Pro.... you bought a z06, not a pinto.

Are they still debating this issue? The dropped exhaust valve was an issue back like 4 years ago. They still haven't figured it out? Wtf?

I think what it is now is that people are buying Z06 vettes used now that were never driven hard and tracking them. The issue didn't come up in cars that were just cruised around on the weekends.

I'm not reading thru 14 pages of some broads arguing about ls7 valves dropping. Most of those guys on CF are drama queens anyway.

Well I dropped a valve 2 weeks ago on my 2007 z06 and it had 16000 miles on it. Zero mods bone stock. Really glad I spent that kind of mony for nothing. The whole engine is junk. Cracked the block, took out both heads even the intake. Happend on the freeway and snapped the bolts to the flywheel clean off as well. What a POS! GM said its on me to replace it with a full crate motor but it will be discounted to 10,400 . Then labor. .....

The problem is they only drink the Katech cool aid and whatever Jason says is gold. He said there was no issue. They believed. He said there is an issue but not the valve. They bow. He says he is constipated and they send him exlax over night air freight! It's ridiculous....

Sorry to hear. I guess you didn't have this happen under GMs 5year/100k power train warranty. IF*** you decide to keep it, might as well build a engine the way ya want. Sorry for your luck.

This comment was made before GM stated it was a machining issue in the heads. At that time we were searching for answers.

I use to think the LS7 valve issue was with the addition of an after market cam only, now I believe is an "epic demic" or a demolition syndrome, else the block has at list a couple of sleeves that are trash in every one of them "too thin" and are quick to expose themselves as soon as you add power.
Another issue with GM is, you are on your own if you have any trouble with their high performance crate engines.

I did just sign up. It's been 6 years since I owned my 2003 Z06 and was a member. But divorce and life happens. Now as for the other head, I was going at a very good rate of speed and it tore the s... Out of everything. I can see the crank from under the valve cover. I will get some pictures. I believe it's a cement mixer now.

Mo powa!

It won't be numbers matching anyway, go with the cubes.
The extra weight will throw the balance of the car off. I road race not drag race.
