I can say this, from driving 1 Ecoboost and 4 5.3 silverado's (all completely stock) in the past ten years for some reason the ford trucks hook better than the chevy's. even though the Ecoboost has significantly more HP and torque from the factory their suspension gets the power to the ground better in a straight line than my Chevys did. Truthfully, I'm not shocked to see this. That said, by the end of the quarter, these cars should be able to catch and pass the ford. It'd be interesting to see this truck run on a real drag strip.

it's turbo lag.
plus this isn't an ecoboost. it's a 5.0 supposedly.

Hammer, It's not turbo lag. They're twins, and holding against a converter avoids the lag if there was any. Just giving a perspective from someone who's put 400k miles on 5.3's and 50k on my current Ecoboost. The current ford's hook plain and simple. The 5.0 in this truck would only help it more IMO. The Ecoboost is giving you full torque much lower in the power band than the 5.0 will. This guy is holding his truck against the converter, releasing the brake and dropping the hammer w/o spinning. As has been said in previous post, he's winning these races in the first 100 ft.
Again, get it this thing on a track and let's see the results. A 14sec. truck is a 14 sec truck. Even w/ bolt ons it'd be a mid 13 sec truck "if" all is as stated in the post, meaning no NOS.
