Default RP Max ATF not compatible with Dextron VI?

I read on Royal Purple's web site that it isn't compatible with it, anyone had any issues or any reasoning behind this?

I don't know, but I can tell you I've had bad results
from other oil-of-exotic-reptile transmission juice.
The frictions in these transmissions are happy with
some and not happy with others, and when you mix
in aftermarket TCC materials the choices that work
with all, get fewer - factory recommended is the
only way to bet, because anyone making parts ought
to expect that as a use-case.

If you want to play with extra special purple syrup
then you want to hit up the manufacturers of your
trans, any aftermarket frictions in the case, and the
converter mfr and get a unanimous thumbs up. Any
one of them might veto the plan for good reasons.

Got a reply from Royal Purple...

Actually you can run Royal Purple Max ATF (part #01320, quart bottle) in vehicles that require Dexron VI or have been refilled with Dexron VI.

The only reason it says “not recommended for” on the bottle’s back label is strictly because of GM warranty compliance reasons.
We simply don’t want our customers showing up at GM dealers during the factory warranty period and then be told “that stuff will void your warranty”. Even though Max ATF is a great functional upgrade GM is not going to recognize Max ATF as a warranty compliant replacement ATF.
So during the warranty period we recommend using the GM Dexron VI fluid. After warranty compliance is no longer a serious concern however RP Max ATF is exactly what we recommend. It will mix and be compatible with Dex 6 and make a great functional upgrade.

For transfer cases that take Dexron VI we recommend Royal Purple Synchromax (part #01512, quart bottle) as a more protective option.

Still, that has nothing to say about non-GM or even
GM's components' actual tolerance of the stuff. You
don't want the recommendation of the guy selling the
goo. You want the recommendation of the guys who
made the parts you're running. The victims, as it were.
