Default 17x10 rim?

what size tire is the correct size for a 17x10 rim? I don't want to know what can be made to fit, I want to know what size is correct for the rim.

Is it 275? 285? 315?

I want the right size tire, for the 17x10 rim, so that the tire looks right on the rim (no bulges) and for maximum safety.

thanks

Every tire manufacturer is going to have different specs for their tires. The specs sometimes even change between models. If I had to guess,,,, the 275 or 285 would be the best fit on a 10 inch wheel. I cannot think of any 315 sized tire that is recommended for use with a 10 inch wheel. Yohohama recommends a min. of a 10.5 inch wheel for their 032R 315/35/17. Most 315s need a 11 inch min..

Check out TireRac.com, they have a pretty good amont of tech. on what they sell.

295 is the max for a 10" wheel.
