Default can innovate lm2 work with hp tuners non pro interface?

hey all, i recently bought a innovate lm2 wideband.
im primarily going to be using it in one car for tuning, so id like to permanently wire in the power/ground cable for the wideband sensor directly into the car so that it can work in conjunction with the regular hp tuners interface.
i do NOT have the pro version with the pre wired aux input/outputs.

as of now, i have the positive cable going to the EGR output signal pin on the PCM.
however, iam at a loss on how to wire up the ground..
innovate says that the lm2 has a floating ground circuit and failure to wire it correctly will cause erratic readings in hp tuners.

id really appreciate any insight as to how to wire it in.

would running a groundwire straight to the battery be ideal?
or run it to any chassis ground?
or wire it directly to the pcm internal ground circuit?

any help would be great.

what up mag!

long time no see dude.... finally getting that clunker finished huh? hahaha jk
(my POS is still in pieces.)

anyways, iirc the lm-2 is a lil funky with the floating ground circuit.
what i did with it was to power the unit through a relay directly from the battery. as well as ground the unit directly to the battery
then, i hooked the positive analog output to the wire going to any unused 5v sensor signal wire.
for the signal ground, its best to run it all the way back to the battery as well. that way there should be zero offset between the signal ground and the unit ground.
a lot of times this alone should work, but sometimes it will still act funky. if that happens splice a ground wire in parallel between the signal ground and the ecu ground on the back of the head. by doing so you are taking and receiving all readings from the main power source.as long as you run all grounds to the main power source of your device you should be able to avoid all the floating ground issues.

hope this helps dude. ive been trying to get myself reinspired to finish my car.
cant wait to see yours run

wassup bro! yeah man, its been too long.
but i still bet my hoopty will be done before yours! LOL

i think i get what youre saying, but i want to be sure.
1. so wire the unit through a relay directly to the battery.
2. run positive output from unit directly to egr input signal pin on pcm connector.
3. run signal ground from unit all the way back to battery.
4. if i dont get same reading between wideband and hptuners, run another wire from pcm ground in back of head to the battery.
does this sound right?
why does it have to be wired this way?
how can i tell that i did it right?

thanks shanto!
