Default amp drawing to much power?

So I have this Cadence TXA750D Mono amp hooked to an Alpine Type R 10. I don't know much about car audio. They are probably probably 4 years or so old? Well, The sub hits about 1/4th as hard as it used to. So I cranked up the gain on the amp. Apparently it is to much for the alternator. The car starts throwing fits. RPMs drop to almost stall when i press in the clutch pedal. Then the car won't start when I park it. But it sounds freaking amazing again
Do i need to replace the amp? get a capacitor? Alternator? I just put a new battery in it.
Thanks for any advice.

Edit: Fired up the car and the volt meter was showing 14.02 at the battery. After a couple songs it had dropped to 13.87
