Any ideas? pushrod fell past lifter, lifter came up and now is has wedged pushrod

Default Any ideas? pushrod fell past lifter, lifter came up and now is has wedged pushrod

i was chainging valvesprings and putting everythign back together but one of the pushrods was not sitting on the lifter but to the side of it and when I turned engine over by hand to get next pistion at TDC it wedged the pushrod between the lifter and head now I cannot pull the pushrod back out, any ideas on how to get it out without having to pull the head?

Try hand roll the engine back the other way ?

no that didnt work, the lifter did not go back down, but I managed to get it today with some really good vice grips and a crowbar to pry up on the vice grips against the head
